Saudi Advanced Eagles arrive at Waddington for Exercise Cobra Warrior 25-1

On 17 February, six Royal Saudi Air Force Boeing F-15SA Advanced Eagles arrived at RAF Waddington, near Lincoln, ready to participate in Exercise Cobra Warrior 25-1. They were accompanied by a Lockheed C-130H support aircraft and a KC-130J, while an Airbus A330MRTT arrived at East Midlands Airport.

It is noteworthy that Cobra Warrior 25/1 exercise which will be held from February 24 to March 14 at several bases in the UK. The main base for the exercise is RAF Waddington, in addition to RAF Coningsby, RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall.

The Royal Saudi Air Force is participating in the Cobra Warrior 25-1 exercise, which will be held in the United Kingdom, with a number of allied air forces. The Saudi detachment consists of six Boeing F-15SA Advanced Eagles (629, 633, 634, 635, 636, and 638) from King Khalid Air Base (Khamis Mushayt), in the southern Asir region, the home of the 6th and 55th Squadrons, which form part of Aviation Wing 5. These were supported by a Lockheed C-130H support aircraft (1623) and a KC-130J (3208), while an Airbus A330MRTT

A farewell party was held at King Khalid Air Base for the Air force members leaving for the exercise. The Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, Lieutenant General Turki bin Bandar congratulated them on having the honour of representing the homeland and urged them to represent the Kingdom in the best way, and to do their best. The General said that the exercise would highlight the capabilities, professionalism and readiness of the Royal Saudi Air Force, providing invaluable ‘combat’ experience for aircrews in a complex war environment.

Lt Gen.Turki said that the aim of participating in the exercise was to strengthen relations and co-operation with the British Royal Air Force and other participating forces. These include Turkish F-16s, and French Air Force Rafales, while Qatar is also expected to participate.
