Sun-Air, the Danish regional airline operating under a British Airways franchise, has reportedly removed its Billund–London City route from sale.

The move, if confirmed, would suspend BA’s last remaining franchise route from London City Airport indefinitely.

Sun-Air, which is based in Billund, has long operated as a unique partner of British Airways, flying under the BA brand and livery while using a fleet of Dornier 328 jets – a rare sight in commercial aviation today.

The airline provided premium regional services from the UK to Denmark, and continues to use the aircraft on other intra-continental European routes.

While the airline has historically catered to niche business and leisure markets, rising costs and shifting travel demand may have played a role in this decision.
