The German Armed Forces Procurement Office for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), Air Force, Army, Navy, and Special Forces has awarded a ten-year contract (worth €284 million) to QinetiQ.

With an option for an additional two-year extension, the decade-long aerial training services (ATS) contract represents the longest and largest contract for QinetiQ’s Global Threat Representation business. Under the ATS contract, QinetiQ will provide a “comprehensive range of tailored services,” with these mission-critical elements to be delivered by the newly-enhanced QinetiQ fleet of eleven Pilatus PC-9 and four PC-12 aircraft.

“In the current heightened threat environment, the award of the ATS contract demonstrated QinetiQ’s commitment to ensuring the German Armed Forces are always operationally ready for their missions” explained Steve Wadey, group executive officer at QinetiQ.

He added that the contract will “form a crucial part of [QinetiQ’s] Global Threat Representaiton offering across all domains”.
