Paris Air Show day 3 roundup: Freighters, Embraers and widebodies dominate

Day three at the Paris Air Show saw temperatures climb even higher as the aircraft orders, agreements and partnerships continued to fly.
Notable orders popped up for the less scrutinised OEMs, including Embraer, De Havilland and ATR. And as thousands of visitors perspired in the sun, Airbus nailed down orders for widebodies and its forthcoming A350 freighter.
Here are AGN’s highlights of the Paris Air Show day three.
Starlux wraps day three with an order for 10 Airbus A350-1000s
In what is expected to be Airbus’ last order of the show, Taiwanese carrier Starlux has placed a firm order for 10 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.
A relative newcomer, the airline started operating five years ago in 2020. It operates an all-Airbus fleet and first partnered with the French manufacturer in 2019. The fleet is currently comprised of 28 aircraft including the A350-900, the A330neo and the A321neo.
US semi-private carrier JSX orders its first ATRs
Semi-private carrier JSX is set to begin its first turboprop flights later in 2025, ATR revealed at Paris Air Show.

The air carrier is taking two ATR-42 on lease to begin with, and has signed a letter of intent to acquire up to 25 more of the type to expand its regional services.
Airbus sells 2 A350F to MNG Airlines
Turkish logistics provider MNG Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus to acquire the all-new A350 freighter.
MNG has committed to two of the type with this MOU, becoming the latest customer to support Airbus’ move into the cargo space.
Egyptair adds another 6 aircraft to A350 orderbook
The Egyptian flag-carrier has exercised six options for Airbus A350-900s following a deal originally made in 2023 to meet growing demand across its network.
The agreement sees the airline’s order for the aircraft type now total 16. Egyptair ordered 10 A350-900s in 2023, the first of which it expects to receive this year. Deliveries for the additional six aircraft made on 18 June are expected to start in 2026 and conclude in 2030.
Airlink orders 10 Embraer E195-E2 for its fleet
South African airline Airlink will become a new operator of the Embraer E2 jet as it was announced today that it has committed to taking 10 E195-E2s on lease from Azorra.

Airlink is a long-standing Embraer customer, already operating an all-Embraer fleet split between the ERJ-145, E175 and E190/195 for a total fleet size of 70 aircraft.
Lithuania picks the Embraer C-390 for its future transport fleet
Lithuania is set to become the latest operator of Embraer’s C-390 military transport aircraft.
The nation has chosen the aircraft for its next generation military transport aircraft with an order of three.
Embraer secures a launch operator for its E190F
Embraer has booked a launch operator for its E-Freighter conversion of its popular E-Jets.
Bridges Air Cargo, part of Bridges Worldwide, will take delivery of the world’s first E190F passenger-to-freight conversion via lessor Regional One.
SkyWest orders up to 110 more Embraer E175 aircraft
Embraer has announced a new order from leading customer SkyWest for another 60 aircraft.
The order is firm for 60 Embraer E175 jets, and includes purchase rights for an additional 50 aircraft.
“We’re pleased to continue growing our E`175 fleet and enhance our dual-class footprint,” says Chip Childs, President and CEO of SkyWest. “This order enables us to advance our long-term fleet strategy.”
Deliveries will begin in 2027.
EVE secures a 54 aircraft-strong order for its eVTOL
Embraer spinoff EVE has signed a letter of intent (LOI) for a significant 54 aircraft order for its eVTOL platform on day three of the Paris Air Show.

The order was from Future Flight Global (FFG), a startup formed by business aviation entrepreneurs Toni Drummond and Karan Singh. Launched in May 2024, the company is targeting air transport services with multiple eVTOL types.
De Havilland Canada secures twin otter Classic 300-G order from US Air Force
The US Air Force has acquired a De Havilland Twin Otter Classic 300-G aircraft which will be deployed to Guatemala.
De Havilland debuted the Classic 300-G during the last Paris Air Show (in 2023) as the fifth generation of the Twin Otter. It combines advanced avionics, enhanced payload capacity and modern safety systems with short take-off and landing (STOL) performance, making it suitable and reliable for a wide range of missions.
Aura Aero secures orders from 5 customers to take backlog to 650 aircraft
Aircraft developer Aura Aero has surpassed 650 pre-orders for its ERA hybrid-electric aircraft.

During the Paris Air Show, the company took new commitments from five customers for the low-carbon platform, taking the order backlog to a total of more than $10 billion.
The USA paves the way for electric air taxi certification
The US is positioning itself as the global frontrunning the development and certification of electric air taxis.
Underscoring this leadership, US transportation secretary Sean Duffy revealed on day two of the show that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is leading a major international collaboration to develop a certification roadmap for electric air taxis.
RTX powers ahead with green technology and engine deals
RTX has taken centre stage in Paris, unveiling a series of announcements from engine agreements to new technology.
The deals advance areas including sustainable aviation, propulsion technologies, as well as securing long-term partnerships with leading global airlines.
