The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will lead Malaysia’s participation at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, one of the world’s premier aerospace and defence exhibitions, taking place from 20–24 July 2026 at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, United Kingdom.

Coordinated by MATRADE, the Malaysia Pavilion will feature a strong delegation of Malaysian aerospace companies and industry organisations, highlighting the country’s growing role as a strategic aerospace manufacturing and services hub in Southeast Asia.

Malaysia’s participation aims to strengthen international partnerships, expand export opportunities and showcase the nation’s capabilities across aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul, engineering services and emerging aerospace technologies.

Building on the strong momentum achieved at FIA2024, Malaysia continues to strengthen its position within the global aerospace supply chain through the development of high-value aerospace activities and increased participation in international aerospace programmes.

At FIA 2024, Malaysian companies recorded RM635.9 million in potential sales, representing an increase of 11.05% compared to the previous edition. A total of 132 business meetings were organised between Malaysian companies and international buyers, reflecting the growing demand for Malaysian aerospace products and services in global markets.

Malaysia’s aerospace industry development is guided by the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030 (MAIB 2030) and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), which aim to position the country as a competitive aerospace nation through enhanced manufacturing capabilities, technological innovation, talent development and sustainable industry growth.

Showcasing Malaysia’s aerospace excellence

The Malaysia Pavilion at FIA 2026 will showcase 15 Malaysian companies representing key segments of the aerospace value chain, highlighting the country’s diverse capabilities and strong commitment to supporting global aerospace programmes.

The participating companies will demonstrate Malaysia’s strengths in precision aerostructures and composites; Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO); electronics, systems integration and STEM training; as well as industry development, investment promotion and international collaboration.

This national participation is made possible through the close collaboration with National Aerospace Industry Corporation (NAICO) Malaysia, the Government’s strategic agency mandated to coordinate and accelerate the development of Malaysia’s aerospace industry, together with the valued support of Invest Selangor and the Malaysia Aerospace Industry Association (MAIA), whose collective efforts have been instrumental in ensuring the success of Malaysia’s presence at FIA 2026.

In addition, Malaysia Airlines, in partnership with MATRADE, is proud to serve as the supporting airline partner for Malaysia’s participation in FIA 2026, providing travel support and facilitating the participation of Malaysian delegates throughout the event.

Strengthening Global Aerospace Partnerships

FIA 2026 provides a strategic platform for Malaysian aerospace companies to strengthen their integration into the global aerospace supply chain, showcase their capabilities to international buyers and industry leaders, and explore new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and joint ventures.

Through Malaysia’s participation, MATRADE aims to position the country as a leading aerospace hub in Southeast Asia by promoting the capabilities of Malaysian companies, facilitating market access, identifying emerging industry trends, and fostering greater international collaboration.
