Gulfstream completes Illinois facility

May 3, 2025

Gulfstream Aerospace has completed a significant expansion of its aircraft completions operations at St. Louis Downtown Airport in Illinois.
First announced in 2023, the project enables full interior outfitting of its aircraft from the site.
“This St. Louis facility expansion is a continuation of our company-wide growth strategy to support the production of Gulfstream’s industry-leading fleet,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream.
“It positions our team to further support completions of our next-generation aircraft for customers all over the world as demand for these aircraft continues to grow.”
The investment amounts to more than $30 million and builds on Gulfstream’s presence at the airport, which began with the opening of a dedicated maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in 2017.
The company now operates across 645,000 square feet of space in St. Louis and employs over 675 staff at the site.
“The St. Louis area is a booming aviation hub filled with skilled and capable talent, and that has played a role in our continued investment in the region,” added Burns.
The St. Louis investment is part of a broader infrastructure strategy from Gulfstream, which recently opened new service centres in Mesa, Arizona and Fort Worth, Texas, along with a paint hangar in Appleton, Wisconsin and a major expansion of its flagship Savannah service centre.
