US Customs and Border Protection orders 10 Airbus H125 light helicopters
Airbus Helicopters has announced the sale of 10 H125 light helicopters to the US Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations (CBP AMO).
The aircraft are to be operated by the Air and Marine Operations Division to support critical law enforcement, border security and public safety missions across the United States.

The H125 is the leading light single-engined helicopter globally, and Airbus states that this new acquisition would further strengthen CBP AMO’s operational capabilities and advance its fleet modernisation goals.
Additionally, according to the manufacturer, the single-engined H125 offers the CBP AMO multi-mission flexibility to conduct patrol surveillance and tactical operations with low operating costs.
To be manufactured at Airbus’ helicopter assembly facility based in Columbus (Mississippi), Airbus added that the H125 incorporates advanced safety features with the dual-channel full authority digital engine control (FADEC) system, engine data recorder, and dual hydraulic flight control system as standard equipment.
These incorporated systems reduce pilot workload and “enhance operational safety during complex tactical flights,” according to the company.

“This expansion of the H125 underscores the long-standing collaboration between Airbus and US Customs and Border Protection,” said Bart Reijnen, Head of North America for Airbus Helicopters.
“This selection highlights the trust placed in the H125 helicopter to perform critical public safety missions under demanding conditions.
He added that Airbus remained committed to supporting CBP AMO with reliable aircrfat as well as offering a comprehensive support and servicing package that would ensure “continuous mission readiness” to CBP AMO.
The wide-ranging global applications of the Airbus H125
The Airbus H125 is one of the world’s most widely used light helicopters, trusted by organisations and authorities across more than 130 countries. Its powerful engine, excellent high-altitude performance, and ability to operate in extreme weather make it suitable for a wide range of missions.
Law enforcement agencies use the H125 for aerial surveillance, traffic monitoring, border patrol, search operations, and supporting ground officers during emergencies. Search and rescue organisations rely on its ability to reach remote mountain regions, forests, and disaster zones where other aircraft may struggle to operate.
Emergency medical service providers use specially equipped H125 helicopters to transport patients, doctors, and medical equipment quickly to hospitals or accident scenes.

Government agencies also deploy the H125 for wildfire firefighting, carrying water buckets, transporting firefighters, and monitoring fire behaviour from the air. Utility companies use it to inspect power lines, pipelines, and communication networks, while environmental organisations conduct wildlife surveys and conservation patrols in remote areas.
The helicopter is also widely used for tourism, pilot training, and transporting passengers to locations with limited road access. Its versatility allows operators to adapt it for multiple roles with minimal modification.
Because of its reliability, low operating costs, and proven performance in demanding conditions, the Airbus H125 remains a preferred helicopter for public services, commercial operators, and government authorities around the world.
