Aircraft make great billboards for major sporting events

These four aircraft join a long line of special liveries that airlines have dedicated to celebrating major sporting events over the years.

Most recently, Emirates painted Grand Slam tennis and AC Milan 125th-anniversary liveries on two of its A380 aircraft, as part of the airline’s extensive sports sponsorship partnerships.

ITA Airways also joined in marking the world’s major sporting events and its official sponsorship status for the Milano Cortina 2026 winter games by painting two Airbus A320-family aircraft in Olympic-themed liveries.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament just beginning, all eyes will be on the skies to spot these special football-themed planes.
