Embraer Executive Jets has secured a landmark agreement valued at up to US$7 billion, comprising a firm order for 182 aircraft and additional purchase rights for 30 more, alongside an extended services agreement.
The deal, announced on Wednesday 5 February, represents the largest order in history for both Flexjet and Embraer’s business aviation division.
Under the agreement, Flexjet will nearly double its fleet over the next five years with a mix of Embraer business jets, including the Praetor 600 and Praetor 500. Additionally, the deal marks the introduction of the Phenom 300E, a light jet, into Flexjet’s lineup.
Flexjet’s current fleet includes a combination of Embraer jets as well as Bombardier Challenger 350/3500, Gulfstream G450 and G650 aircraft. The company also owns and operates Sikorsky S-76 helicopters.
Embraer Executive Jets President and CEO Michael Amalfitano emphasised that the comprehensive purchase agreement reinforces the two-decade-long partnership between the companies. He stated: “We are thrilled that even more loyal Flexjet fractional owners will gain access to our industry-leading Phenom and best-in-class Praetor jets.”
Since the partnership began in 2003, Flexjet has taken delivery of more than 150 Embraer aircraft and has served as the launch customer for three Embraer models: the Legacy Executive, the Phenom 300, and the Praetor 500/600.
Flexjet CEO Michael Silvestro praised the performance of the Praetor 500 and 600, highlighting the Praetor 600’s success in Europe, which led to its introduction into the North American fleet in 2023. “As the first fractional provider of the Praetor 500, our maintenance technicians and pilots are intimately familiar with the aircraft and look forward to expanding this fleet,” he added.
Having launched fractional ownership programs in Europe in 2020, this latest order could accelerate Flexjet’s expansion across Europe and the Middle East.
For Brazilian aircraft manufacturer the order builds on a strong 2024, with Embraer hitting its target and delivering a total of 206 last year – a 14% increase on the 181 aircraft deliveries it made in 2023.
