Cirium reveals Europe’s most punctual airlines
Cirium has revealed Europe’s most punctual airlines for September 2024, with Spanish airlines dominating the top three this month.
Iberia Express emerged as the most punctual airline in September, achieving an on-time performance (OTP) of 85.08%, a notable improvement from 83.43% in August.
SAS followed closely behind with an OTP of 82.45%, though this marked a slight dip from its August performance of 83.53%.
Air Europa, Finnair, and Norwegian also made the top five, with punctuality rates exceeding 79.86%.
However, no UK airline featured in the top 10 of Europe’s most punctual carriers.
Globally, Aeromexico led the way once again, with an impressive OTP of 91.13%.
Saudia secured second place with 89.40%, followed by Avianca at 88.74%.
Delta and Qatar Airways completed the global top five with punctuality rates of 87.81% and 87.35%, respectively.
In terms of cancellations, flight disruptions decreased globally by 11% in September, with 47,324 cancellations compared to 52,931 the previous month.
