Avion Express Brasil obtains AOC

March 3, 2025

Avion Express Brasil, a subsidiary of Avion Express and part of Avia Solutions Group, has received its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), paving the way for the country’s first dedicated ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) operator.
With regulatory approval now in place, Avion Express Brasil is gearing up to begin commercial operations in the first quarter of 2025.
The company aims to deploy up to 10 Airbus A320 family aircraft by year’s end and expand its fleet to 25 aircraft by 2027–2028 to meet what it says is increasing demand for flexible capacity solutions across Latin America.
Darius Kajokas, CEO of Avion Express, said: “Avion Express Brasil AOC represents a significant step forward for ACMI solutions, as it opens up a new market and introduces innovative solutions for capacity management to airlines. We are deeply grateful to ANAC for recognising the value of this expansion and for supporting it.
“With the aviation industry experiencing cyclical demand shifts, our ACMI solutions will provide to Brazilian airlines the flexibility they need to optimise their operations. We are confident that our services will help bridge capacity gaps while maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and reliability.”
Avion Express has identified Latin America as a key market for growth, successfully forging long-term partnerships in Mexico and recently launching operations in Argentina.
“ACMI solutions are strategically designed to address the demands of peak travel seasons, allowing airlines to add or remove aircraft from their fleets as needed, providing the flexibility to adapt to market fluctuations and seasonality,” said Esteban Jauregui Lorda, CEO of Avion Express Brasil.
“Looking ahead to 2025, Brazil’s tourism and aviation sectors are expected to keep growing. Supported by investment from Avia Solutions Group, Avion Express Brasil is ready to meet the needs of airlines. With our AOC secured, we are poised to provide Brazilian airlines with reliable and cost-effective capacity solutions, helping them manage both peak demand and market shifts seamlessly.”
