Air India A350-900

Air India has unveiled plans to increase flight frequencies on key routes between India and the UK as part of its Northern Summer schedule, which will take effect on 30 March 2025. The airline aims to enhance connectivity, particularly between India and the United Kingdom, to cater to rising demand during the summer months.

Key updates to the airline’s flight offerings include:

United Kingdom:

  • Delhi-London Heathrow: Air India will add three weekly flights, bringing the total from 21 to 24 weekly services. These flights will be operated using a mix of the airline’s flagship A350-900 and upgraded B787-9 aircraft.
  • Amritsar-Birmingham: The frequency will increase from three to four weekly flights.
  • Amritsar-London Gatwick: The service will increase from three to four weekly flights.
  • Ahmedabad-London Gatwick: Air India will boost its frequency from three to five weekly flights.

Rest of Europe:

  • Delhi-Zurich: The service will increase from four to five weekly flights.
  • Delhi-Vienna: Frequency will rise from three to four weekly flights.

Far East Asia:

  • Delhi-Seoul (Incheon): The service will increase from four to five weekly flights.
  • Delhi-Hong Kong: Air India will switch the aircraft from an A321 to a B787 Dreamliner, operating the service seven days a week.

Africa:

  • Delhi-Nairobi: Air India will increase the frequency from three to four weekly flights.

The frequency increases are part of Air India’s ongoing efforts to meet passenger demand and improve service offerings across its network. The airline’s fleet modernisation program is also progressing as planned, with the first of the retrofitted Boeing 787s scheduled to return to service in October 2025. These upgrades will include new seating configurations and enhanced in-flight entertainment systems. Air India aims to complete the modernisation of its narrowbody fleet by mid-2025.
