Space-Comm Expo 2023 returns this week “bigger and better” than ever with an exciting line-up featuring the likes of Tim Peake and leaders from UKSpace, BAE Systems and the Civil Aviation Authority.

Industry appetite for the dedicated space sector event continues to grow with 2023 billed as a landmark year as seven spaceports are set to come online across the UK, with a combined aim of together launching 100,000 satellites by 2030.

Visitor satisfaction

Speaking to FINN, Christie Day, portfolio director at Hub Exhibitions, which runs Space-Comm Expo, said the event had grown more than 75% since its 2021 launch and has “cemented itself as a must-have date in the diary with 99% visitor satisfaction”.

“The success stems from the industry-leading conference sessions and pioneering exhibitors combined with the practical ‘business’ features that enables each of the professionals in the room to network, collaborate and, simply, get things done,” she explained.

“Working with our partner Farnborough International, we also continue to attract a high-level delegation to the event, providing our exhibitors with exclusive opportunities to build relationships with key government officials.”

Economic boost

The space industry is worth £14.8bn to the UK economy and is set to climb exponentially over the next 10 years.

With the world watching the UK industry, Space-Comm Expo offers a unique opportunity for the sector to convene, collaborate and discuss legislation and future demand.

Day added: “Overall, we are focusing on building the event bigger and better than the previous years – growing by a further 60% for 2023.

“We are working on bringing our most exciting line-up yet, with Tim Peake headlining and leaders from the likes of UKSpace, BAE Systems, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and CGI will be featuring across the programme.

“New for this year is our Meet the Buyer programme at Space-Comm Expo and “investors” will also be in attendance in a buyer capacity, providing a fantastic opportunity for SMEs in the space sector seeking financial investment for their products and services.”
