Bombardier has entered into a definitive agreement for the sale of the Dash 8 aircraft programme assets, including the Q400 and aftermarket operations.

The Dash 8 programme is being bought by a subsidiary of Longview Aviation Capital Corp. for approximately $300 million (£228 million).

The agreement covers all assets, intellectual property and Type Certificates associated with the Dash 8 Series 100, 200 and 300, as well as the Q400 programme operations at the Downsview manufacturing facility in Ontario, Canada.

The transaction is expected to close by the second half of 2019.

Bombardier says that following this announcement as well as the closing of the Airbus partnership on the C Series aircraft programme earlier this year, the company will now turn its full attention to the  CRJ programme, including exploring new “strategic options”.
