Luxury airline BeOnd grounded for summer 2026 as booking data reveals near-total shutdown

BeOnd’s flights have effectively disappeared for summer 2026, with booking data showing a winter-only network returning from October.

The first aircraft for Beond, the world's first premium leisure airline.

Maldives-based premium carrier BeOnd has effectively disappeared from the market for summer 2026, with its own booking data showing almost no flights available from April through October, even though the airline’s flight schedules still appear in industry systems.

A detailed search of the airline’s reservation system shows only one flight available out of Malé in May, with service resuming in October, and a full network rebuild not arriving until December.

BeOnd announces summer halt of European flights

In a statement posted on social media, BeOnd updated its customers on the halt of European operations.

The airline offered passengers who had already booked summer flights their choice of rebooking to winter, an open rebooking for 12 months, or a full refund.

However, a review of their booking engine shows that the service suspension extends beyond Europe and is effectively a summer halt of operations.

BeOnd booking data shows near-total summer shutdown

BeOnd’s own booking engine shows only two flights available for booking from Malé across the summer, to Dubai and Zurich, both on May 1. However, Dubai is the through point to Zurich, so this is effectively only one flight.

Across the airline’s network, from Velana International Airport, most destinations resume service from October onward, and full schedules are available only from mid-December through March of next year. No flights are yet available from April 2027 onwards.

For the all-premium carrier, this retraction is effectively a suspension of commercial operations during the summer, though the airline has not formally cancelled its schedule. Cirium still lists BeOnd flights as scheduled throughout the year.

The disconnect between Cirium schedules and booking availability is not unusual. Airlines can keep flights filed in schedules to retain slots and visibility while closing inventory in their reservation systems. In BeOnd’s case, that gap is unusually wide with a network that exists on paper but is grounded in practice.

BeOnd routes return in phases from October

The airline’s network rebuild is gradual and heavily skewed toward winter demand. Flight frequencies ramp up sharply from mid-December into peak winter.

Early restart routes from October include Zurich, Dubai, Milan and the Red Sea. November sees Riyadh added, with returns to London, Paris and Moscow in December. Munich increases from twice-weekly on October 25 to four weekly flights starting in late December.

Dubai, which serves as a through point to Europe, shows a single flight available on May 1, then resumes twice-weekly service from October 2 through October 25, and four-times-weekly service from October 26 through December 13. The booking engine shows daily service restarting from December 14 through to March 26, 2027, but flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are currently marked as fully booked.

BeOnd pivots to serving peak winter demand amid jet fuel crisis

Currently, BeOnd appears to have pivoted to operating as a seasonal carrier, aligned with Maldives peak travel demand.

The booking adjustment meets the needs of the Maldives’ strong winter-sun travel market but also exposes the fragility of airline operations under challenging market conditions. With jet fuel prices now double amid the conflict in Iran and fuel supply in Europe at risk, BeOnd appears to have chosen to scale back its operations and wait.

Other carriers have also had to make difficult adjustments to schedules and service during the Iran conflict. Notably, Lufthansa has permanently shut down its regional carrier CityLine and made adjustments to its mainline fleet to address rising fuel costs.

Whether BeOnd can sustain this pivot to winter will depend on demand during the critical months of service resumption and how long the industry’s cost and jet fuel availability pressures persist.
