This week’s long-haul flight schedule changes from Europe: What you need to know
November 22, 2025
Between frequency increases, route cuts and other adjustments, airline network planners have been busy this week. Aerospace Global News takes a look at some of the long-haul routes changes to and from Europe each week, all of which are subject to change.
Some airlines file changes and then revert them the following week: as is the case today with Air India, which has reduced its planned London Gatwick frequencies back down to standard levels for both its Ahmedabad and Amritsar routes, despite filing increases last week.

As for this week’s novelties, some of the key highlights include United Airlines’ planned changes on some of its transatlantic routes. It plans to reduce service to Geneva, and pull out of Stockholm completely. Earlier this year it had also filed the removal of its second-daily flight to Brussels next summer.
WestJet also introduced several new transatlantic flights this week as well, which have now been added to filings to aviation analytics firm Cirium. LATAM has now also added its two new European routes to schedules, with connections to Brussels and Amsterdam from its São Paulo hub.

This week’s schedule changes
Using data from aviation analytics firm Cirium, the below is a non-exhaustive list of developments this week. For readability purposes, adjustments that extend to a large part or the entirety of the 2026 summer season have been listed as ‘S26’. Long-haul is defined as flights over 3,000 miles, meaning not all Europe to non-Europe flights are included, but only those that meet the threshold.
The sample was selected based on relevance and market trends, and does not include smaller changes such as minor aircraft changes with a limited impact on capacity. As always, schedules are subject to change. And, as we have seen in previous editions, they do.

Middle East
No relevant changes this week, though the Dubai Airshow made headlines with hundreds of aircraft orders. AGN reported live from the UAE.
11 new transatlantic routes between Europe and North America
With WestJet, JetBlue, and Iberia’s new routes between Europe and North America, a total of 11 have been added this week. Then, if we count the two routes between Europe and South America that have been added, the new transatlantic route count reaches 13.
It signals the slow and gradual recovery of traffic on the transatlantic market, hit by uncertainty stemming from the political and economic situation in the United States. Indeed, only two of the new routes connect the United States with Europe – the rest are concentrated in Canada.

Qanot Sharq adds new London Gatwick flights
Uzbek carrier Qanot Sharq has announced plans to bring competition to the Tashkent-London route. Using its fleet of Airbus A321LR or A321XLR aircraft, the carrier will join Uzbekistan Airways which flies from both Heathrow and Gatwick.
Qanot Sharq will fly the route twice weekly with its A321neo planes. It has not received any yet. Its first A321XLR was said to be preforming tests in Hamburg. It plans to receive three XLRs and two LRs on long-term lease.

Azul withdraws from France
Azul seasonalised its route to Paris earlier this year when it decided to suspend flights between São Paulo-Viraco and Paris Orly Airport from October. It had previously said that it would resume the route in April, in line with demand trends on the route that signify lower interest during the winter months in the Northern hemisphere.
However, it seems the route may not be returning. As always subject to change, Cirium schedule filings show that Azul has removed the service to Paris for S26.
This change is also reflected on reservation systems, with no non-stop Azul flights on offer to Paris. It continues to offer codeshare options via Lisbon with TAP Air Portugal and via Madrid with Air Europa.

It is worth noting that this coincides with LATAM’s European expansion, which includes the launch of flights to Amsterdam and Brussels (both reachable by train from Paris) to São Paulo. It is unclear if this development is related.
AGN has reached out to Azul for confirmation regarding the airline’s Paris plans. The company was not immediately available for a comment.
