Popular low-cost carrier (LCC), easyJet, is adding 26 new routes to its destination network for summer 2025, including its first ever link to sub-Saharan Africa.

The flights to Cape Verde in West Africa will be served from London Gatwick as part of the launch of 26 new routes including 21 from 10 UK airports.

The inaugural flight to Cape Verde will depart on 31 March and will then be operated three times a week throughout the summer season. “We’re proud to be releasing such an incredible range of new routes,” said Ali Gayward, easyJet UK Country Manager. “This includes a milestone route for easyJet to beautiful Cape Verde, our first ever sub-Saharan service.”

The West African link will be complemented by another brand new destination, Rimini in Italy, while the LCC also plans to grow its network at London Luton with services to the Andalusian capital Almeria in Spain and Funchal in Madeira.

Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast will also all benefit from additional routes to destinations across Europe.

“Our continued growth and investment in the UK and the connectivity we offer our customers highlights the importance of the market for us,” added Gayward.
