Regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord has completed a sale agreement for eight aircraft with Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), its third portfolio trade. Comprising of one Dash 8-400 and seven E190s, this latest deal will take TrueNoord’s fleet of in-production turboprop and regional jets to 94.

The integration of all eight aircraft (consisting of four operating in the USA, three in Europe and one in Australia) is expected to be completed during Q2 2024. Richard Jacobs, chief commercial officer of TrueNoord, highlighted that this latest portfolio acquisition “increases [its] purchase commitment to a total of 29 aircraft from [NAC] over the last 16 months”.

The latest deal augments what TrueNoord describes as two significant portfolio acquisitions announced in December and January 2023, for 10 and 11 aircraft respectively. “These are exciting times at TrueNoord, as we continue to develop the business and increase our global fleet,” explained Richard Jacobs, chief commercial officer. “We appreciate the professionalism and support of the NAC team, and look forward to closing this mutually beneficial transaction, as both parties pursue their own strategic growth plans”.

He concluded that it was “encouraging to see the buoyancy of the regional aviation sector, with values and leases continuing on an upward trend,” confirming that TrueNoord are already exploring lessor-to-lessor portfolio trades.
