Flight activities took place mainly in the airspace over Sardinia and Sicily, from Monday to Friday, extending from early morning to late afternoon. The four Eurofighter Typhoon wings each assigned two aircraft to the exercise, providing two weeks of high value pilot training, and allowing some degree of operational and maintenance standardization.

The eight Eurofighter F-2000 aircraft and personnel involved were drawn from the four Wings responsible for Italian ational air defence. These are the 4° Stormo ‘Amedeo d’Aosta’ at Grosseto, (with the 9° Gruppo and 20° OCU Gruppo); the 36° Stormo ‘Riccardo Helmut Seidl’ (10° and 12° Gruppi) at Gioia del Colle, the 37° Stormo ‘Cesare Toschi’ (18° Gruppo) at Trapani, and the 51° Stormo ‘Ferruccio Serafini’ (132° Gruppo) at Istrana Treviso).

Supporting the exercise were F-35As from the 6° Stormo ‘Alfredo Fusco’ at Ghedi and MQ-9A Predators from the 32° Stormo ‘Armando Boetto’ at Sigonella. Support was also provided by the 14° Stormo ‘Sergio Sartoff’ at Pratica di Mare whose 8° Gruppo operates the KC-767A, and whose 71° Gruppo operates a range of ISR aircraft, including the CAEW configured E-550A, one of which operated over the Tyrrhenian Sea for much of the exercise.
