Textron Aviation has announced plans to enhance its operations in Australia by constructing a new service facility at Essendon Fields Airport in Melbourne.

Designed to support Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker aircraft owners, the expanded facility will significantly increase service capacity, improving efficiency and reducing downtime for customers across the country.

Construction is set to commence in March 2025, with the facility expected to be fully operational by early 2026.

The new site will more than double the company’s existing footprint, providing over 35,000 square feet (3,343m²) of space for maintenance, repairs, and modifications.

Located in a more central position within the airport, the upgraded facility will feature a Textron Aviation parts stockroom to speed up deliveries, as well as an improved customer lounge for greater comfort while aircraft are being serviced.

“Building this new facility to support the more than 1,400 aircraft operating in the APAC region demonstrates our commitment to providing the strongest combination of factory-direct maintenance and service solutions available for our customers,” said Brian Rohloff, senior vice president, Global Customer Support.

“This investment will grow our capacity and help us to better assist customers with scheduled maintenance, modifications and aircraft-on-ground support.”
