Tawazun Council and Mubadala invest in Al Ain MRO facility

Tawazun Council, an independent government entity working closely with the Ministry of Defence and security agencies in the UAE, and Mubadala Investment Company have joined forces to enhance the UAE’s aerospace sector with a state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Al Ain.
The collaboration was announced at IDEX 2025 and marks a significant step in the UAE’s ambition to become a global aerospace leader while driving economic growth.
Positioning UAE as aerospace leader
The new Al Ain facility developed by Sanad in partnership with global aerospace leader Pratt & Whitney, will be the first engine MRO centre of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as South Asia regions. The facility is designed to provide comprehensive MRO services for aircraft engines, positioning the UAE as a regional hub for advanced aerospace technologies and strengthening its aerospace capabilities.
Dr Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of Mubadala’s UAE Investments platform emphasised the importance of the collaboration saying: “This partnership between Mubadala and Tawazun is a clear demonstration of the Mubadala UAE Investments platform delivering on its mandate.
