The Turkish Aerospace Hürjet missed Farnborough to make a visit to Torrejon air base in Spain, flying via Belgrade (Serbia), Brescia (Italy) and Mont de Marsan (France). Farnborough had been a late addition to the Hürjet’s schedule, and the Egypt International Air Show had previously been expected to host the type’s international public debut.

The Hürjet prototype flew from the TUSAŞ Aerospace Company’s facilities at Ankara’s Akıncı Air Base, to Antalya before crossing the Mediterranean and landing in Egypt. The flight from Antalya to Alexandria reportedly took 1 hour 15 minutes. The aircraft is due to make a demonstration flight over the pyramids before returning home.

The Hürjet first flew on 25 April 2023, and since then the aircraft has completed more than 100 sorties clocking up 120 flying hours, reaching a speed of Mach 0.9 and an altitude of 45,000 feet.

Serial production of the Hürjet is expected to begin in 2025.
