British Airways has rolled back some planned changes to its Executive Club loyalty scheme following customer feedback.

Initially, the airline had proposed a shift to awarding tier points based solely on spending, moving away from the traditional model that considered flight distance and class.

The move sparked criticism among frequent flyers. In response, the airline has introduced a new route to earning status based on flight frequency. Members can now qualify for Bronze status after 25 flights per year and Silver after 50, regardless of fare type.

Additionally, a bonus tier points offer has been extended for bookings made throughout 2025, allowing members to earn extra points based on cabin class.

These adjustments aim to balance the scheme, ensuring both high-spending travellers and those taking frequent shorter flights can benefit. The changes are set to take effect from April 2025.
