Israeli airline Arkia is set to launch a new transatlantic route connecting Tel Aviv and New York’s JFK Airport starting February 8, 2025.

The airline has confirmed it will lease a state-of-the-art Iberojet Airbus A330-900 to operate its first transatlantic service, marking a significant step in its international expansion.

The route will offer three weekly flights between the two cities. Flights from Tel Aviv, designated IZ991, will depart Ben Gurion Airport at 08:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays, arriving in New York at 00:50 the following day. On Saturdays, a late-night departure at 23:30 will bring travelers to JFK by 15:50 the next afternoon.

The return leg, IZ992, will leave New York at 22:30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, landing in Tel Aviv at 06:30 the next morning.

Arkia’s decision to lease the Airbus A330-900, known for its improved fuel efficiency and passenger comfort, reflects the demand for Israel-US travel which is steadily rising.

“This is a historic and significant day for Arkia,” said Arkia CEO Oz Berlowitz. “Launching the direct Tel Aviv-New York route is an important milestone, which shows our commitment to the Israeli public and to finding aviation solutions even in challenging times.”
