Airbus and Thai Airways International have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to carry out a cabin retrofit of the airline’s A350-900 fleet.

The retrofit programme will be managed by Airbus, and will see Thai’s long-haul A350s fitted with the latest cabin design and technology.

Passengers can expect upgraded ‘Royal Silk’ Business Class seats, the introduction of new premium economy seats, and new economy seating.

The enhancements will also include a next-generation in-flight entertainment system.

The cabin upgrades are scheduled to begin in 2028, with the aircraft re-entering service gradually to minimise disruption to the airline’s operations.

Balinda Zhang, Airbus Head of Commercial Services APAC, said: “Airbus is pleased to support THAI in this significant investment in their fleet, ensuring that their A350 aircraft continue to offer passengers an exceptional flying experience. This retrofit aligns with our shared vision of delivering enhanced comfort and efficiency for airlines and their customers.”
