Collins Aerospace has secured a 2025 Crystal Cabin Award in recognition of its galley.ai technology, an artificial intelligence-based system designed to transform aircraft galleys into connected spaces.

The system, which topped the Cabin Technologies category, merges AI and sensor technology to improve in-flight service, onboard communications, and aircraft maintenance planning. It supports direct communication between crew members and passengers, offering real-time updates via personal electronic devices and crew tablets.

“Our galley.ai system is designed to address many of the challenges crew members, passengers and ground teams face with onboard service and maintenance scheduling,” said Sebastien Ramus, vice president and general manager of Interior Products at Collins Aerospace.

“The enhanced system efficiency and multi-layered communication capability of the galley.ai system streamlines operations, optimises the crew work environment and provides a more enjoyable travel experience for passengers.”

The win was announced during the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany.

Beyond improving the onboard experience, the galley.ai system also keeps tabs on system health, predicting failures and identifying maintenance needs before issues arise.

This predictive capability is aimed at reducing downtime and helping airlines better manage aircraft maintenance.
