Africa’s largest aviation training institution, Ethiopian Aviation University, has celebrated the graduation of over 460 aviation professionals, marking a significant milestone in bolstering the continent’s aviation workforce.

The graduates, hailing from across Ethiopia and 10 other African nations, reflect the institution’s wide-reaching influence within the continent.

The ceremony honoured 132 new pilots, 128 commercial trainees, 123 cabin crew members, and 84 aircraft maintenance technicians.

The group had completed rigorous programmes across the university’s specialist schools, including Pilot Training, Cabin Crew & Catering, and Aviation Maintenance.

Ethiopian Aviation University also offers a diverse portfolio of degree programmes, ranging from Aeronautical Engineering to an MBA in Aviation Management, alongside practical training in leadership, aircraft maintenance, and catering.

Beyond meeting the operational needs of Ethiopian Airlines, the institution provides critical expertise to the broader African aviation sector, supporting its growth.

Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said: “Today’s graduation is a testament to Ethiopian Airlines Group’s commitment to play a part beyond transportation in the aviation industry.

“As a Pan-African airline and the continent’s aviation giant, it is also a pleasure to extend our aviation training to other African nations and take a step further in realising a well-connected Africa, where well-trained professionals support the industry.

“We are immensely proud of our graduates and their contributions to the aviation industry. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates and wish them the best of luck in their new careers. Let us work together and make Africa proud.”
