Thirteen killed in Lanhsa Jetstream 32 crash

A Lanhsa British Aerospace Jetstream 32, operating as flight LNH018, crashed into the sea shortly after taking off from Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport on the island of Roatán, Honduras.
The aircraft was carrying two pilots, a flight attendant, and fifteen passengers.
Emergency responders initially confirmed that twelve occupants were killed, with a 13th body recovered on Tuesday, 18 March 2025.
Five people have been rescued. The extent of injuries among the survivors has not been disclosed.
According to initial reports, the twin-engine turboprop took off from runway 07 before making a right turn.
Shortly thereafter, it impacted the water. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the accident.
Lanhsa, a regional airline, has not yet released a public statement regarding the incident.
Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport, a gateway to the Bay Islands, has resumed normal operations, although the crash site remains under investigation.
