Gulfstream Mesa Service Centre

Gulfstream Aerospace has unveiled its latest Customer Support service centre at Mesa Gateway Airport in Arizona.

Originally announced in 2021, the facility represents a US$130 million investment and spans an impressive 225,000-sq.ft. Designed to accommodate up to 13 large-cabin Gulfstream aircraft, the centre will provide a range of services, including maintenance and avionics support, inspections and drop-in assistance for all Gulfstream models.

Advancing sustainability and efficiency

Aligned with Gulfstream’s commitment to sustainability, the Mesa facility incorporates some of the latest environmental design features. The centre has been constructed using recycled, locally sourced and low-emission materials, while construction waste was recycled. It also uses systems aimed at reducing power and water consumption. Gulfstream anticipates receiving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification from the US Building Council for the facility later this year.

The new service centre complements Gulfstream’s interim Mesa facility, which opened in 2022 and was expanded in 2023 to accommodate up to 10 large- and mid-cabin aircraft. Together the two facilities will enhance the OEM’s ability to serve customers in the Western United States and those transiting through the region. Additionally and to help customers decarbonise operations, Gulfstream’s Mesa campus also features an on-site fuel farm that includes a 30,000-gallon tank for storing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Boosting the local economy

Commenting on the company’s focus on modernising its service network, Mark Burns, Gulfstream’s president said: “Thanks to the investments we’ve made in workforce development and on-the-job training, our Mesa team is well prepared to offer customers based in the western United States and those travelling through the region the same high-quality service and safety measures that they have experienced across our worldwide network.”

With 100 jobs expected to be generated by the Mesa centre this year, Gulfstream’s operations at the Arizona hub have already brought more than 250 jobs to the region.
