VAS Aero Services, a provider in aviation logistics and aftermarket services, has acquired two additional Boeing 737-700 aircraft for teardown and subsequent parts harvesting and marketing.
Teardown
VAS will manage the teardown of both aircraft at Marana, AZ with disassembly starting in July 2023. This brings the total to 27 aircraft VAS has secured in the last 12 months. Used Serviceable Materials (USM) parts from the new teardowns will augment VAS’s widely accessed aftermarket parts inventory, distributed through the company’s worldwide airline operator and MRO customer base.
“As the industry’s leading provider of narrowbody aircraft transition management services, VAS has established itself as a trusted Best Partner to airlines and lessors looking to realise maximum value from their soon-to-be-retired assets,” said VAS CEO Tommy Hughes. “The additional two Boeing aircraft to our deep inventory assures that we will have superior, high-demand USM parts for our customers around the world, and further cements our position as the premier provider of USM parts and solutions to the global aviation marketplace.”
