US Air Force B-1B Lancers exercise with Philippines Air Force FA-50s

February 5, 2025

Four aircraft seem to have been deployed, the first pair arriving at Andersen AFB on 15 January, after conducting a trilateral flight with Japanese Mitsubishi F-2s and South Korean F-15Ks Slam Eagles en route. The second pair arrived on 17 January.
This bomber deployment is being made in support of Pacific Air Forces’ training efforts with Allies, partners, and joint forces. The United States supports the vision of the Indo-Pacific as a free and open region composed of nations that adhere to the international rules-based order. It flies strategic deterrence missions to reinforce this, leveraging the speed, flexibility, readiness and firepower of the USAF’s strategic bombers to support national security objectives in what is a complex and uncertain security environment.
US Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers and PAF FA-50s flew in a joint air patrol and intercept exercise during the deployment.
Bomber missions like these are said to “contribute to joint force lethality and deter aggression in the Indo-Pacific region by demonstrating the US Air Force’s ability to operate anywhere in the world at any time.”
