Search resumes for missing MH370

US company Ocean Infinity has received approval from the Malaysian government to begin a fresh attempt to find the missing MH370 plane.

The plane disappeared in March 2014 on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, with 227 passengers and 12 crew members.

The governments of Malaysia, China and Australia called off the official search in January 2017, after almost three years.

Reports say that private firm Ocean Infinity, which specialises in seabed exploration systems, has dispatched a search vessel to look in the southern Indian Ocean for debris from the plane. The company is working on a ‘no cure, no fee’ basis The Telegraph quotes Liow Tiong Lai, Malaysian Transport Minister as saying, meaning that no payment will be made unless the wreckage is recovered.

However, Lai said, “I don’t want to give too much hope … to the (next of kin).” He said his government was committed to continuing with the search but didn’t give further details.
