Luxair, flag carrier of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, has exercised options for two additional E195-E2 aircraft as outlined in its firm 2023 order for four units. This takes its total E195-E2 order to six, with three purchase rights remaining, alongside conversion rights to the E190-E2 if desired.

“The E2 is perfectly suited to Luxair’s operations and ambitions, closely complementing Luxair’s existing and on-order fleet, ensuring the maximum level of fleet and network optimization to the airline for the long-term,” commented Marie-Louise Philippe, SVP sales and marketing, head of Europe and central Asia region, Embraer Commercial Aviation. “We thank Luxair for the trust they have shown in Embraer with this follow on order”.

Luxair’s E195-E2 will be configured in a single class layout with 136 seats. The first aircraft delivery from the initial 2023 order is scheduled for delivery in 2026, with the new order also securing additional delivery slots in 2027.

The incoming aircraft will augment the carrier’s current regional fleet of 21 aircraft, including the 737-7 and 737-8. In August 2024, Luxair also placed an order for two 737-10s, with options for an additional two. The new aircraft orders come amid a time of expansion for Luxair, having recorded a “historic milestone” of  over 2.5 million passengers in 2023, a 22% increase year-on-year.
