Lufthansa Group airlines are set to resume flights to Tel Aviv starting February 1.

The decision comes after careful evaluation of the regional situation, the airline said, and follows an announcement on Wednesday of a tentative ceasefire agreement that may end the conflict that has raged for 15 months between Israel and Hamas.

The return of Lufthansa Group airlines to Tel Aviv signals the gradual restoration of connectivity between Europe and Israel.

This move is expected to benefit both business and leisure travellers, providing essential links to one of the region’s key hubs. Initially, the flight schedule will start modestly and will expand progressively based on passenger demand.

While safety remains paramount, the group will closely monitor developments in the region and is prepared to adapt its flight schedules if necessary, it said.

Brussels Airlines, one of the carriers within the Lufthansa stable, said in a statement: “After careful consideration, Lufthansa Group airlines -including Brussels Airlines- will resume flights to Tel Aviv as from February 1st

“Brussels Airlines will restart the flights gradually and increase the number of weekly flights depending on demand.

Safety and security always have the highest priority. Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa Group will keep monitoring the situation in the region and adjust the flight schedule immediately if required.”
