Global flight cancellations hit 6855 on Friday, Cirium reveals

Following yesterday’s global IT outage, Cirium has revealed the final number of cancelled flights on 19 July 2024.

Following yesterday’s global IT outage, Cirium has revealed the final number of cancelled flights on 19 July 2024.

The data firm said 6,855 flights were cancelled globally on Friday – equating to 6.2% of all scheduled flights.

Some 207 flights were cancelled departing UK airports yesterday (6.7% of all scheduled UK departures), with a further 201 inbound arrivals cancelled.

As of 10am on Saturday, 1,639 flights had been cancelled globally (1.58% of all scheduled flights on Saturday).

Some 23 flights had been cancelled departing UK airports until that point (0.9% of all scheduled UK departures), with a further 25 inbound arrivals cancelled.
