A subsidiary of ECS Group, EFIS Maroc, has announced a strategic partnership with China Eastern Airlines, which will see three weekly cargo flights being operated between Casablanca in Morocco and Shanghai in China.

The flights, which will be operated on Boeing 787-900 aircraft with an 18-tonne freight capacity, have been designed to support the automotive industry ensuring timely and secure transport of high-value components between the two countries.

Jean Ceccaldi, CEO of ECS Group described the partnership as a “key milestone”, as he underlined that it combines “regional expertise with innovative tools to redefine standards in efficiency and reliability for cargo logistics.”

The collaboration also reinforces Morocco’s geographic footprint as a gateway to Africa and will help foster trade relations and economic growth between the two regions.

It also enables EFIS Maroc to leverage ECS Group’s global network and digital tools. By combining Squair, ECS Group’s custom reporting optimisation solution, with CargoAi’s advanced digital booking platform, operations will be streamlined and EFIS Maroc will deliver a customised cargo management solution for China Eastern Airlines.

The alliance is also in line with China Eastern Airlines’ plans to expand its presence in Africa. At the end of last year, it renewed its codeshare agreement with Kenya Airways enabling passengers from both airlines to enjoy access to a wider range of desintations across the two continents.
