March 24, 2025

Cope Tiger is now in its 31st year and serves as a symbol of the three nations’ enduring partnership and commitment in the region.
The Royal Thai Air Force participation included Lockheed Martin F-16s, Saab Gripens, Northrop F-5E Tiger IIs, and KAI FA-50 Golden Eagles, while Singapore deployed F-15SG Eagles and F-16Cs, supported by an Airbus A330 MRTT tanker.
The lead USAF unit in the exercise was the 77th Fighter Squadron based at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina, and equipped with the Lockheed Martin F-16C. This was the unit’s first time participating in exercise Cope Tiger.
US Air Force Lt. Col. Steven McCord, 77th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron detachment commander said that: “We’re very excited to be here to work with the Royal Thai Air Force and the Republic of Singapore Air Force. We’re here to learn more about each other, learn from each other and build our relationships on the ground and in the air. That’s really what Cope Tiger is all about.”
