Bombardier’s demo team has achieved another milestone by flying its Challenger 3500 through the Himalayas and landing at Bhutan’s notoriously challenging Paro International Airport.

This feat follows the team’s record-breaking performance with the Bombardier Global 7500, where they set over 50 world records.

Paro Airport is widely regarded as one of the world’s most difficult airports for pilots, with its runway situated at an altitude of over 2,200 metres (7,220 feet) and surrounded by steep mountain terrain.

The approach demands pinpoint precision and a deep understanding of the surrounding environment, testing both the aircraft’s capabilities and the skills of its crew.

Bombardier’s demo team had spent weeks meticulously preparing for the journey, ensuring every aspect of the approach and landing was flawlessly executed.

“The landing necessitated meticulous precision to navigate the challenging approach, underscoring the synergy between the aircraft’s exceptional agility and the pilot’s control. The result was a feat of outstanding airmanship and a truly stunning video that we know you’ll enjoy,” the company said.

Bombardier shared footage of the landing on Twitter.
