Air Greenland to expand its fleet with an A320neo

February 21, 2025

The airline has signed a lease-agreement with Carlyle and the new aircraft will be delivered in December 2026, with entry into commercial service following in early 2027.
The current fleet of the airline consists of a single A330-800 and eight DHC-8-200s. The new aircraft will support growing international operations by the airline. The new Nuuk International Airport will be a key enabler for the airline’s planned growth, which will allow direct international flights instead of routing these through Kangerlussuaq.
Currently focusing its operations on routes to Copenhagen and Reykjavik, Air Greenland aims to expand its network to London and Germany. Air Greenland has been contemplating adding narrow bodied A320 Family airliners since 2022. It hopes to capitalise on new opportunities when three airports in the territory expand.
