100th speed record for Bombardier Global 7500

March 5, 2025

Bombardier continues to rack up industry-leading speed records for its Global 7500 business jet, having just celebrated its 100th accolade.
After leaving Bombardier’s authorised service facility ACI Jet in San Luis Obispo, Bombardier’s Global 7500 made the journey to London’s Biggin Hill airport in nine hours and 17 minutes, “averaging an impressive speed of almost 1,000km/hr,” explained the OEM. The record is the latest in a long line of speed-setting city-pair records, making the most of the platform’s top speed of Mach 0.925 and baseline range of 7,700 nautical miles.
“The Global 7500 aircraft sets the standard in the ultra-long-range class for its outstanding technological advancements and impressive performance capabilities. As these impressive records attest, the aircraft consistently shows it has the speed to successfully complete any type of mission,” commented Jean-Christophe Gallagher, executive vice president, aircraft sales and Bombardier Defense.
The most recent success story builds on the aircraft’s total of 75 records accumulated as of late November 2024, with Gallagher adding at the time that “what’s even more impressive about these records is that they are flown as part of routine aircraft movement, including some missions that have passengers aboard”.
The Global 7500’s successes precedes the 2025 entry into service of the Global 8000, described by Bombardier as its “flagship for a new era”, with a range of 8,000 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.94. “With our Global 8000 set to enter into service later this year, we can’t wait to build on this speed record momentum and take it to even higher levels across te fleet,” concluded Gallagher.
