Viva Aerobus has announced 17 new Mexico routes from Mexico City International Airport, Felipe Ángeles (AIFA) launching in 2024, as well as increased frequency of its 10 routes currently operating from the airport.

Viva will make AIFA a strategic hub in Mexico’s central region, increasing capacity by five times 2023 levels to 4.5 million seats next year.

“We are increasing our operations at the new Mexico City International Airport with firm belief in its potential,” said Viva CEO Juan Carlos Zuazua. “These 17 new routes are designed to respond to increasing demand for connectivity around ZMVM [Mexico City’s Metropolitan Area]. Our offer features new aircraft, non-stop flights, and affordable fares that benefit all passengers and promote tourism, competitiveness, and revenue for our country.”

Viva’s new routes will start on 1 December to Tulum, followed by Guadalajara on 9 December and Ciudad Juárez and Mérida on 16 December. The other routes will commence between January and July 2024.

“At AIFA’s General Management department, we thank Viva for trusting this new airport, with infrastructure, technology, safety, and quality service that allows passengers to travel to more destinations. This historic growth for Viva is a milestone for connectivity in Mexico City,” said AIFA CEO General Isidoro Pastor.Subscribe to the FINN weekly newsletter
