Texel Air Australasia scores a world first ETOPS milestone
A Boeing ‘Tweet’ revealed that to Texel Air Australasia has completed the world's first extended operations (ETOPS) flight with a Boeing 737-800BCF.

Boeing’s congratulatory tweet read: “Hats off to Texel Air Australasia on completing the world’s first extended operations (ETOPS) flight on a 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF)! ETOPS will open new routes for the 737-800BCF that were previously out of range and enable more efficient flight paths.”
Texel Air Australasia is a subsidiary of Bahrain-based cargo airline Texel Air and is a cargo airline established in New Zealand in March 2023. As of 8 April 2024 the airline has four Boeing 737-800BCF aircraft in its fleet, while the Bahrain operation has one, alongside examples of the Boeing 737-300F, and the Boing 737-700FC (FlexCombi).
