Riyadh Air has unveiled the interiors of its Boeing 787-9 fleet as the new Saudi carrier moves closer to its commercial launch, planned for later in 2025.

The airline, which describes itself as a digital-native operator with no legacy systems, aims to deliver a consistent and modern onboard product across all aircraft.

The interiors feature a unified design across the fleet with a focus on passenger comfort, high-end materials, and integrated technology. Seating layouts include Business Elite and Business in a 1-2-1 configuration with fully flat beds, Premium Economy in a 2-3-2 layout, and Economy in a 3-3-3 arrangement.

The Business Elite section includes Safran Unity seats with sliding privacy doors and 52-inch-high walls, alongside 32-inch 4K OLED screens—the largest in any business class product globally, according to Riyadh Air.

Business Class shares the same seat design with slightly smaller screens. Premium Economy seats offer 38 inches of pitch, while Economy seats are set at 31 inches.

Each cabin class includes large-format 4K OLED entertainment systems, with screen sizes ranging from 32 inches in Business Elite to 13.3 inches in Economy. Business Elite and Business passengers will also find embedded headrest speakers supplied by French audio company Devialet, offering headphone-free audio.

Riyadh Air is promising free, high-speed Wi-Fi for all passengers who register for its loyalty programme. Connectivity will be delivered through Viasat, supporting web browsing, streaming, and gaming from gate to gate, as well as live TV on seatback screens.

Tony Douglas, Riyadh Air CEO, said: “Riyadh Air has always promised to deliver a world-class experience for our guests and the unveiling of our cabin interiors make this ambition a reality. The design, layout, and features of our new cabins are carefully crafted to ensure flights are as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. From the ergonomic and luxurious fabrics in the seats to the high-end technology used in the entertainment systems, every facet of the cabins has been chosen to deliver relaxing luxury.”

The airline will offer 290 seats on board its 787-9 aircraft: 4 in Business Elite, 24 in Business, 39 in Premium Economy, and 223 in Economy. Other features include adjustable privacy dividers, charging ports in all classes, and ergonomic seat designs with plush foam and premium fabrics. Business Elite will also include a double bed in the centre seats of the first row.

As part of its digital-first approach, Riyadh Air will be the launch customer for Panasonic Avionics’ Modular Interactive system, allowing the airline to quickly update in-flight entertainment interfaces and content.

The airline has received its Air Operator Certificate and its first technical spare aircraft. Further announcements, including its inaugural routes and commercial launch date, are expected in the coming months.
