Menzies secures expanded Ryanair contract
Menzies Aviation is continuing its quest for a wider foothold in the global airport ground services market with a renewed contract agreed with European low-cost airline behemoth Ryanair.
The extended partnership with Ryanair will last until October 2029, and includes the addition of Iași International Airport (IAS) in Romania, bringing the total number of locations where Menzies handles Ryanair flights to 10.
Iași International, one of Romania’s oldest airports, joins an existing roster of Menzies-operated airports in the country, which includes Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport, Cluj International Airport, Sibiu International Airport, and Timișoara International Airport.
In addition to the new location in Romania, Menzies will maintain its ground handling operations at five other major airports: Václav Havel Airport in Prague, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Oslo Airport, Göteborg Landvetter Airport, and London Gatwick Airport.
This renewed agreement positions Menzies to manage over 26,000 flight turns for Ryanair annually, reinforcing a long-term collaboration that has proven successful for both companies.
Miguel Gomez, EVP for Europe at Menzies Aviation, said: “We are thrilled to embark on the next chapter of our relationship with Ryanair, one of Europe’s leading airlines.
“This expansion signifies the strength of our partnership and our shared commitment to providing safe, secure, and sustainable airside services. We look forward to enhancing our services at a new location alongside Ryanair.”
