Gulfstream’s all-new G700 business jet has received European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) type certification, complementing its earlier Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification awarded on 29 March.

“During the flight test programme, we took the G700 across the globe, and the response to the aircraft’s cabin size, flexibility and performance has been outstanding,” explained Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream (a General Dynamics business unit). “This EASA certification unlocks G700 deliveries for many more of our international customers, and we are excited to see our next-generation fleet grow around the world,” he continued.

The flagship G700 model features the “most spacious cabin in business aviation and includes options for a grand suite with expanded lavatory or the industry’s largest ultragalley,” notes Gulfstream. The aircraft can also be configured with up to five living areas and its cabin altitude is the lowest in business aviation, with the cabin pressurised at just 2,840ft while flying at 41,000ft.

In April 2024, General Dynamics chairman and chief executive officer Phebe Novakovic highlighted that Gulfstream intends to deliver “a considerable number” of G700s in 2024. “The first 20 to be delivered are fully built and deliveries have begun. By the end of this month, the next seven to eight will be ready,” she added. Novakovic also explained at the time that she expected EASA certification to help “nicely improving margins, particularly in the second half [of 2024]”.
