Embraer’s E190-E2 and E195-E2 regional jets have been awarded type certification by the Mongolia Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA), paving the way for their integration into the market.

MCAA certification follows similar permissions previously awarded by the FAA (US), EASA (Europe), ANAC (Brazil), CAAS (Singapore) and China (CAAC). Thanking the MCAA for their “diligent assessment and confidence in Embraer’s aircraft,” chief commercial officer of Embraer Commercial Aviation Martyn Homles said that “the E2 is ready to be a strategic asset for Mongolian carriers seeking to modernise their fleets and grow their networks”.

Embraer’s commercial aircraft have had an operational presence in Mongolia since 2018, when the ERJ 145 entered service with Aero Mongolia. In 2019, the country’s largest private airline Hunnu Air also added two first-generation E190s to its fleet.
