The first-ever Arizona Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Summit took place on October 29 in Scottsdale, attracting over 160 attendees.

“The fact that so many influential industry leaders traveled to Arizona on their own dime to speak at this summit underscores Arizona’s significance in the Advanced Air Mobility industry,” said event organiser and spokesperson Michelle Olson.

“Their presence here demonstrates the state’s role as a potential hub for AAM innovation and highlights Arizona’s appeal in shaping the future of sustainable and advanced aviation technologies.”

Honeywell’s VP and GM of Advanced Air Mobility, David Shilliday, underscored Arizona’s leading role in his opening remarks, saying, “Arizona is positioned to lead in advanced air mobility.”

A presentation from Peter Irvine of the US Department of Transportation’s Interagency Working Group on Transportation provided the audience with an update on the national AAM strategy, set for release in February 2025.

Irvine emphasised that AAM’s development involves comprehensive collaboration at all government levels, including cybersecurity, TSA integration, and community outreach.
