AeroMexico’s 90th anniversary livery

To mark its 90th birthday AeroMexico has unveiled a new corporate livery, showcasing the airline’s ethos of warmth, dynamism, and modernity.

On August 28, Aeromexico unveiled a new livery to celebrate its 90th anniversary. The new livery was applied to an Embraer ERJ190LR (XA-IAC), and features an updated version of the airline’s Caballero Águila logo, found on the tails of all of the airline’s aircraft.

The new version of the logo showcases the evolution of the Aeromexico brand, and is intended to project warmth, dynamism, modernity, and contemporary Mexico. The new Caballero Águila has a more human-like face which is intended to symbolize closeness and empathy, reflecting Aeromexico’s aim of building better connections with its customers, stakeholders, and partners.

Andres Conesa, Aeromexico’s chief executive officer (CEO), said that: “We would like to present to you the new livery that our fleet will display, which is a reflection of the internal transformation we have undertaken to consolidate a world-class product, always keeping our customers at the centre of everything we do. ”

AeroMexico is also painting Boeing 737 MAX 9 XA-GQS in a special one-off livery honouring the Maya-culture of Mexico. The scheme features a range of iconic elements, including flowers, birds, and endemic species, and its vibrant colours show off Mexico’s cultural traditions. The scheme was designed by Edgar Flores, a Mexican artist known as ‘Saner,’ who is famous for creating artwork inspired by the folklore, colours, and mysticism of Mexican culture. This aircraft is named ‘Kukulcán’ after the Mayan feathered serpent deity who is traditionally regarded as the god of the winds.

‘Kukulcán’ will joing an earlier specially painted Boeing 787-9 (XA-ADL) known as  ‘Quetzalcoatl’, an Aztec deity related to ‘Kukulcán’. This design, unveiled in 2016, was created by graphic designer José Manuel Escudero of Veracruz.
