Acron Aviation and Deutsche Aircraft sign supply deal for key D328eco flight management software

The systems will offer the German aircraft advanced technology solutions to enhance safety while offering next-generation flight monitoring and performance metrics.

Opening the second day of the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, Acron Aviation and Deutsche Aircraft announced a long-term partnership and the signing of a supply agreement for Acron’s Flight Recorder and Standby solutions for the next-generation D328eco regional turboprop.

The systems will offer the German aircraft advanced technology solutions to enhance safety while offering next-generation flight monitoring and performance metrics to support more sustainable flight.

Acron Aviation and Deutsche Aircraft team up for the D328eco

According to Acron Aviation, the company’s 25-hour Recorder and Standby solutions combine “proven reliability with advanced technology to enhance aircraft safety, operational efficiency and lifecycle performance.”

Designed to meet evolving operational and regulatory requirements, the platforms are said to be closely aligned with Deutsche Aircraft’s vision to deliver a regional aircraft “that meets the highest performance and certification standards, while enabling sustainable flight operations.”

The deal was signed at the Farnborough Airshow and secures the supply of flight recording and standby instrumentation systems to be fitted to the D328eco programme – a 40-seat regional turboprop designed for the short-range regional air transport market.

An Acron Aviation statement added that this partnership had been formulated to reflect a mutual commitment to strengthening aerospace supply chains through long-term collaboration and innovation.

The company added that by pairing Deutsche Aircraft’s next-generation regional aircraft with Acron Aviation’s expertise in safety-critical avionics, both companies were helping to shape the future of regional aviation.

Background to the Deutsche Aircraft D328eco

The D328eco is a modern 40-seat regional turboprop aircraft developed by Deutsche Aircraft as the next generation of the Dornier 328. It combines the proven performance of the original aircraft with new technologies to improve efficiency, sustainability, and passenger comfort.

Powered by two Pratt and Whitney Canada PW127XT-S engines, the D328eco offers lower fuel consumption, reduced maintenance costs, and compatibility with 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

Its advanced Garmin G5000 PRIME avionics enhance safety and reduce pilot workload, while the stretched fuselage provides increased seating capacity and a more spacious cabin.

The aircraft is designed for short takeoff and landing operations, allowing it to serve smaller regional airports with limited runway lengths. In addition to passenger transport, the D328eco can be configured for cargo, medical evacuation, maritime patrol, and government missions.

With its focus on operational efficiency and environmental performance, the D328eco is intended to meet the growing demand for sustainable regional air travel.

Rolled out in 2025, full production readiness is planned for early 2027. The D328eco will progress through its flight test campaign, beginning with the first flight in 2026, with entry into service planned for the last quarter of 2027.
