Air Samarkand expands route network

May 23, 2025

Air Samarkand is expanding its footprint across Central Asia and the Middle East with the launch of several new international services and an increase in frequencies on existing routes.
The Uzbekistan-based airline is rolling out new connections to Georgia and Azerbaijan while strengthening its presence in Israel and Turkey.
According to the carrier, these developments are in response to strong demand across a mix of travel sectors – including leisure, religious pilgrimage, and business.
“These latest route developments will support growing customer demand for new and enhanced services on our Air Samarkand route network. All provide connections where we have seen rising demand or identified clear opportunities to establish new routes for tourist, pilgrim and business travellers. We are meeting increased demand for convenient and competitive direct services to link our historic city of Samarkand and Tashkent with important neighbouring markets and destinations further afield,” said Zafar Butayev, CEO of Air Samarkand.
The airline has already launched a charter service from Tashkent to Tbilisi – the capital of Georgia – which began on 18 May, with flights to Batumi, the country’s popular Black Sea resort, starting on 24 May.
Both routes are operated in partnership with EasyBooking. From June, the Tbilisi service will run twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, while Batumi will see three weekly rotations from 9 June, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Further south, Air Samarkand will begin scheduled flights to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, starting on 6 June. Samarkand will be served once a week on Fridays, while Tashkent will gain two weekly links to Baku on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In Turkey, services from Samarkand to Istanbul will be stepped up from 26 May, increasing from three to five weekly flights. The route will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Following the launch of a direct link between Samarkand and Tel Aviv on 4 May, Air Samarkand will introduce a second weekly service from 3 July.
All new and existing routes will be operated using a mix of Airbus aircraft, including its A330 with 313 seats, and narrowbody A321 and A321neo with 194 and 221 passengers respectively.
The airline, which only began scheduled operations in March 2024, has rapidly added destinations across the Middle East and Asia, including services to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Jeddah, Medina, Sharm El Sheikh, and Vietnamese coastal cities Nha Trang and Phú Quốc. It has also run charters to Delhi, Dhaka, Islamabad, Dubai, and other key cities.
